Degeneration Excerpt

My mother is the mental health therapist of the county in which I spent my teens and too much of my twenties. She and I occasionally argue about whether the small town in the hills attracts insane people, or generates them. I stand on the cause-and-effect side, she argues it's a Mecca for crazies.

It doesn't really matter why the populace of this small town is so nutty. But with no movie theater, one redneck bar, and one small military college, our youth was a series of long nights spent trying, and failing, to find entertainment. In the quest to quell boredom we killed a few brain cells (ok, more than a few), wrecked a few cars (always on purpose), broke a few heads (always our own), and somehow survived.

Degeneration Excerpt is a forum for telling those tales of insane nights, insane people, and insane acts done just to avoid going (further) insane from boredom. In the online comic I've changed the names to protect the insane and done some minor layout changes to fit the screen better. Originally this was a paper-based comic in black and white only, but with the wonders of modern technology we've converted it to a few livid colors. If you'd prefer to see the paper effort contact us. Maybe we'll send you a copy, cheap, along with a Degenerate Press fun pack absolutely free.

Enjoy!
